Perak and Penang have enjoyed some very rapid development since their establishment and they are some of the more prosperous northern states. Penang is considered like the silicon valley of Malaysia as they have numerous electronic factory and research facilities including Intel, AMD and Dell! While Perak made its mark with its tin mining and limestone and marble. Nevertheless, despite all the progress and modernization, both these states still have retained their old world charm and natural heritage.
